Days 13-18 (Wednesday-Wednesday)

Hey everyone! Sorry I have not posted in ages.  Things have picked up around here and there has been little time! The event is a week from tomorrow, and as hard as we try to work ahead, things always pile up.  Here's the update:

Last Wednesday was a POP party! I worked on printing and copiling POPs for most of the day.

Thursday and Friday were snow days. :-)

This week we hit the ground running.  Monday was full of POPs again.  Many of them had to be printed, and I spent a couple of hours making needed corrections, reprinting and compiling everything.  By the end of the day, I had 31 beautiful POPs in front of me.

Tuesday was exciting and LLLLOOOONNNNNGGGGG.........  I started my day at 4:45am and had an interview in Brown County, Indiana for a possible job post-graduation.  I won't give too many details because I have not heard back yet, but more details will follow depending on what I hear.  Altogether, it was a great interview. I rolled into the office at 11:30 and hit the ground running.  There were fires to put out as miscommunication between unnamed sponsors had caused a flood of wine distributors insisting upon tables.  While this might seem like a small issue, it was a logistical nightmare.  Every winery or distributor at the event has to turn in insurance information, excise forms, and wine lists.  The wine lists are headed to the printer on Friday so this left very little time for all of the necessary parties to get their information in.  The completed Wine List was now an atrocious mess and hours were spent cleaning it up.  While Meredith focused on the wine list,  I worked through the minutia of Sign Design with our design manager.  Hours of tweaking and moving and rotating and font changes later, we were able to prepare all of the pdfs to be sent to the printer.  Yay!

Wednesday was a little bit of a breather, but not by much.  There were a couple more signs requested and changes to be made.  Then, I headed to the event closet to count things like sign holders to see what we had and what needed ordered.   I spent some time contacting all of my wineries about raffle entries, and at the end of the day a table tent design was requested.  I spent the remainder of my day working on it and headed out at 5.

Not much to say yet about today as I have only been here a couple of hours, but look for another post soon!  Tonight is my last night at my surrogate fam's.  We are all sad about this.  Luckily, I will be in and out next week.  My classes and this internship overlap by one week so there will be a lot of back and forth happening between Greencastle and Indy.  I cannot believe I have been here for almost 4 weeks.  Time truly does fly when you are doing something you love.  Thank you all for reading and I'll write again very very soon!
