Days 11 and 12 (Monday and Tuesday)

Hello Friends!! I hope you all had a great weekend! I apologize for not having posted in a few days.  Monday was slow and there was little to say, then yesterday was so busy there was no time to post. Oh, the irony. Anyways, on to what I have been up to.

Monday was a slow day indeed.  We had a massive copy and compile project that needed done, but the main printer is down and I couldn't justify using the only other one in our wing for a few hours and therefore blocking everyone else's color copy capabilities, so that had to wait.  I did some follow-up with wineries and continued to get their forms in and filed appropriately.  I did work on compiling a POP from an event last year, but years of putting together mailers for my mom have made me such an efficient binder buider this project was quickly completed as well.  I spent much of the afternoon researching center piece ideas and catching up on emails.

Tuesday was a much fuller day indeed.  The day began with a trip to the Events Closet.  This is possibly the most fun room I have ever been in.  It is full of all the things used to put on a WFYI event.  This includes, but is not limited to, gift bags, wine glasses coloring books, bubbles, signs, crayons, keychains, giant mascot costumes, polaroid cameras, noise makers, and caulderons, just to name a few.  This trip was to look and see what signage from last year could still be used and what needs ordered.  I spent the next few hours checking what we had against what we needed and making another trip to the closet to check sizes.  This took all morning and then it was lunch time.  Over lunch, I did some decor research for my sister's quickly approaching wedding.  Come afternoon time, we (Meredith, Karen and myself) made a trip to the Roof to check on a few things.  We spent about an hour checking out and creating centerpiece options.  We also met with the company that will be running all of the lights, sound and video the evening of the event.  We made decisions about what to light where and discussed the logistics of flipping one space into something else half way through the night. We returned to the office and I had a slew of email awaiting.  Once this was dealt with it was time to head out!

On the home front, Hillary has returned to college. :-(  Amanda, Kent, Morgan and I have been hanging out and last night Morgan and I spent an hour yelling at the TV screen as we watched Million Dollar Drop.  We also used the Turbo Cooker to make mini chocolate cakes, and I started a new puzzle.  All-in-all, life is great! I'm having a blast and can't believe I am half way done with this internship. Crazy!  As always, thank you for the prayers and well wishes! Oh, and Happy Belated Birthday to my aunt Connie!
